I love boots. They are a necessary part of my fall/winter wardrobe and every year I like to give away the old and buy some new. But this current economy has put a damper on my wardrobe. Even with markdowns everywhere you look, you still need the cash to take advantage of it! I have a pair of BCBG flat riding boots that I bought in 1999 (on sale during the after Christmas clearance at Jacobsons). I love the boots, but I have worn them to the point of embarrassment. They need to be resoled, the toes are scuffed and my foot has grown a half size since I bought them - meaning they wouldn't even fit if it weren't for the fact they are designed with a very square toe bed.
And while I still get asked where I bought these boots every time I
wear them, I have been looking for a replacement for them for years.
Why is it so hard to find a flat boot with style?
This year I have my eye on two by Stuart Weitzman. One is a croc-embossed black leather knee-high boot with a narrow calf fit. The other is smooth black leather knee-high boot with a shoelace that ties at the ankle and runs up the shin. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for further mark-downs and maybe just a touch of luck.
