Finding Balance
We work so hard to get in shape – spinning, running, lifting weights – it is important to break a sweat, right? There are many aspects to fitness and it is important to find what your body needs. Mind/body research shows that we each have an internal “map” that helps us move through space. Athletes and dancers learn to finally tune their map so they are able to move with grace and speed. To create a stronger mind/body connection, challenge your balance. Working on balance is like reprogramming your body. You develop greater core awareness and a stronger image of your body. It can also help with weight loss. Our mind/body understanding is that we are heavy, even after losing weight. It is only after redefining who we are in space that we are able to make the connection to the thinner person.
